Our Travels: Quintana Roo, Mexico

For most travel writers, when they’re not glued to a laptop, the wider world beckons with adventures. The World Words writers and editors are no different – they can’t resist their itchy feet any more than the tug to write about their exciting journeys once their travelling feet come to rest. That’s why we created the Our Travels blog series.

This series of blog posts follow our team around the world, as writers share highlights of their recent adventures. There’s an extensive back catalogue of Our Travels blogs to enjoy, with topics including everything from hiking in the Azores to soaking up the sunshine in the Cayman Islands. This month, it’s the turn of our writer Nicole to share her tale of traversing Mexico for the first time and falling head over heels in love with Quintana Roo (naturally, the whole trip happened a while before coronavirus lockdowns came into effect). Scroll on to give her story a read…

Our Travels: Lebanon

The experienced travel writers at World Words don’t just sit at their desk and write – they get out and travel the world too. At least, they do when there isn’t a global coronavirus pandemic. Whether busy researching stories or just having fun, they’ve ventured to all four corners of the globe, from The Azores to Alaska, Australia to Andorra.

(And those are just the As – there are plenty more where they came from).

In the Our Travels blog series, we share a taste of some of the places we’ve recently visited, and find out exactly what it is we loved about them. In this month’s blog, we will hear from travel writer Jennifer, who recently travelled to Lebanon and was astonished by the beauty of the country and its people. Scroll down to read about her trip…

Our Travels: São Miguel, The Azores

If there’s one thing that World Words writers and editors enjoy doing even more than travelling, it’s writing about travelling. Lucky, really, considering that’s our job. But for every trip that’s undertaken for a commission – whether it’s an article or blog post, a travel itinerary, or a client’s website content – there are also the moments we decide to down tools and head out on the open road for our own personal pleasure. That’s where Our Travels comes in.

This blog series allows our team to share some of their recent, personal travel adventures. In the past, they have written about everywhere from Corsica to Canada, Crete to the Cayman Islands, and this time it’s the turn of our intrepid editor-in-chef Joe and his recent Christmas trip to São Miguel in the Azores. Scroll down to read about it…

More of Our Top Autumn Travel Content

Autumn has well and truly arrived: there’s a nip in the air, a peppering of russet on the trees and decorative gourd displays every which way we look. It’s one of our favourite times of year, so we’re sharing some more of our best autumnal travel content (just in case you missed it, here’s our previous selection of fabulous fall-themed content).

We’ve included a couple of articles on autumn festivals, from on-trend light festivals to London’s Totally Thames. As autumn also coincides with wine harvest season in the United States, we’ve also included a piece on Napa Valley weekend. Plus, there’s our Oliver’s Travels guide to Ireland, which we think is at its finest when seasonal hues of gold, orange and red invade all that green. Feeling autumnal? Scroll on down to read snippets of each…
