Our Travels: Darwin and NT, Australia

What does the World Words team do when we get some precious time off from writing about travel? Well, we go travelling. No matter the season, it’s safe to say at least one of us will be off on an adventure somewhere exciting. Through the Our Travels blog series, we share our travel stories with the wider world (recently, we have covered Andorra, Laos and Western Crete, and you’ll find many more destinations in the Our Travels section of our blog).

This month, it’s the turn of our writer and editor Eilidh to share a story from her recent trip ‘down under’. Scroll on down to read all about her wildlife-packed experiences in the Northern Territory (or ‘NT’, as the cool kids call it)…

Our Travels: Cayman Islands

When our World Words team aren’t putting pen to paper, you’ll likely catch them jetting off to colourful cities, lush rainforest landscapes or coastal idylls in search of new adventures. Quelle surprise – travel writers love to travel.

These globe-trotting habits are in part what makes our content as good as it is. Every perfectly-crafted sentence we write can be backed up by extraordinary personal experiences, whether that’s hiking in the craggy Patagonia peaks, marvelling at ancient statues on Easter Island or chowing down on mouthwatering street food in Bangkok.

As well as helping us craft inspiring copy for clients, we like to share these incredible memories through our blog series, Our Travels. This month, writer Jemima ventures to Grand Cayman – the largest of the Cayman Islands – for the sixth (!) time, and reveals what there is to see in this Caribbean paradise. It’s not only beautiful beaches…

Our Travels: Andorra

At this precise moment in time, there are World Words team members dotted all over the world. Literally. All over the world. It’s inevitable, really – when you are a team of travel content writers and editors, discovering far-flung corners of the globe isn’t only our greatest passion; it’s part of the job description. After all, it’s this on-the-ground expertise that allows us to create exactly the kind of well-informed, superior-quality content that our clients crave.

Every once in a while, we like to give our readers some insight into where on earth our team members are. And we do this through a blog series called, imaginatively, Our Travels. In the past, we’ve covered our writers’ trips to everywhere from Lisbon to Luang Prabang, Guatemala to The Gambia. This time, it’s the European microstate of Andorra. Scroll down to read about our editor-in-chief Joe’s trip, the realisation to a 17-year-long travel ambition…

Our Travels: Luang Prabang, Laos

It won’t come as a surprise to learn that the editors and writers at World Words are addicted to travel. At any given time of year, you’ll find hordes of us are traversing different corners of the globe in search of new adventures. And then, we indulge our love of words with travel tales and tips to enhance the journeys of other fellow globetrotters.

The Our Travels blog series was created for just that purpose. It’s all about sharing the personal travel stories of our team, whether it’s spotting brown bear cubs in Alaska, exploring Scotland’s remote Western Isles, wandering Orccha’s historic cenotaphs, hiking the mountains around Kyoto… or relaxing at a riverside resort in The Gambia.

This month, it’s the turn of World Words writer-adventurer Nicole, who recounts a month living in Luang Prabang, Laos – amid chanting monks on the banks of the mighty Mekong River. Scroll down this page to read her story…
