Off On Holiday? How to Pack Like a Pro

As regular global travellers, our World Words writers and editors are all-too-familiar with the trials and tribulations of packing a suitcase. Whether it is cramming everything you need for a week’s holiday into a tiny carry-on bag, deciding what to prioritise when packing for a multi-climate break, or trying to squeeze your entire existence into a single suitcase to relocate abroad, there are very few aspects of travel that are quite so consistently frustrating.

Fortunately, help is at hand, thanks to a new infographic from Splendid Asia. We came across this on our virtual travels around the web, and thought it was worth sharing with a wider audience. So scroll down to take a look…

The Hotel Industry Trends that Travel Content Writers Need to Bear in Mind

At World Words, we often find ourselves writing about the hotel industry. Sometimes it’s website copy for a hotel resort like Hotel Villa Franca Positano, sometimes it’s a travel guide for an accommodation rental company like HomeAway, and sometimes it’s a content writing advice blog for a hotel-focused publication such as eHotelier.

Whatever the type of hotel travel content we are writing, it is vital for us to keep our fingers on the pulse of the hotel industry. That’s why we are always looking for upcoming trends and fresh insights into the world of hotels.

On one of our regular research expeditions around the internet, we came across this excellent infographic from Ard na Sidhe Country House Hotel in Ireland. It was so good, we just had to share it. Outlining the biggest hotel industry trends for this year, it’s a valuable insight into what’s happening in one of travel’s most exciting sectors.

The good folks at Ard na Sidhe has have kindly allowed us to post the full infographic below, so scroll on down.

Website Content for Off The Map Travels

Have you ever wished your travel website was working just that little bit harder? Have you yearned for copy that’s beautifully written to catch the attention, while also getting your key sales messages across to the right audience?

That’s what Off the Map Travels wanted – and that’s why they came to World Words.

Off the Map Travels, a customised travel planning service set up by avid traveller Sara Nakash, asked us to create new website content that would engage their audience – an intrepid bunch looking for local culture, adventurous activities and a little bit of luxury too – and also clarify the key sales messages and increase the visibility of calls to action. We began by reworking the content that was already there, and then suggested our own new additions.

The new website has now gone live, so you can see the fruits of our labour by clicking here. Or for a taste of how our content works even without a fancy design, scroll down to read our copy for the homepage and ‘About’ page.

Getting to Know Genoa, Italy: A City Destination Travel Guide for Expedia

Our team at World Words regularly write and edit travel guides for the leading online travel company Expedia. In fact, we create more Expedia travel guides than we can possibly list here (for example, just since the start of April, we’ve produced city and regional guides on the Netherlands, the USA, India, England, Japan and the Bahamas).

We might not be able to show them all, but we have picked out one of our recently-published destination guides. This month, our guide to Genoa, the capital of Liguria in northwestern Italy, was published on Expedia’s website. And to give you a taste of what you can expect in this stunning seaside city, we’ve included the overview below.
