Our Best Spring Travel Content – Part 2

Earlier this month, we took to the blog to show you some of the best spring-themed content written by the World Words team. But it turns out that we couldn’t do ourselves justice with just one blog. So we’re back with another.

As anyone of the pedalling persuasion knows, spring is prime cycling season, so we’ve dug up two articles from the archives on the topic: the first, a cycling itinerary guide and the second, a blog post on urban cycling events. If you favour two feet over two wheels, we’ve got an article on the world’s best long-distance hiking trails too. And if all that seems a little too active for your tastes, never fear; we have also got some more laid-back outdoor fun on offer in the form of a guide to London’s best parks. Last but by no means least, we’ve included a travel guide we wrote to the Isle of Skye. Although this Scottish isle is beautiful at any time of the year, we think it peaks in spring when the wildflowers are in full bloom and the puffins finally show their faces. Our Best Winter Travel Content – Part 2

Almost a month has passed since we last shared some of our best winter travel content, so it’s time for an update.

Last time, we only scratched the surface of winter travel content we’ve completed for our clients, so this time we are diving a little bit deeper. We’ll start with a piece we had published on Run in the Dark Edinburgh, a night-time jogging event in the Scottish capital. Meanwhile, for anybody needing last-minute ski holiday inspiration, we have pulled out features on Canada’s Mont-Tremblant and the Swiss mountain resort Zermatt. And, because we know that some of the more forward-thinking among you may already be planning your summer escape, we have also included a destination guide we produced last year on the Languedoc region in sun-drenched southern France.

Last but not least, for those wanting to improve their written travel content in 2016, we’ve also shared some of our top editing tips with Media Kitty. So what are you waiting for? Scroll on down to read a short excerpt from each.

Washington to the Isle of Skye: An Entire World of Destination Guides for Expedia

As regular readers of the blog will know, we write a lot of destination guides for Expedia. And we mean A LOT. We have written about all four corners of the globe for this leading online travel company, whether it is Genoa in Italy or St Louis, Missouri in the US. In fact, just take a look through this project list for Expedia and you will find dozens of travel guides stretching back more than three-and-a-half years. And those guides are just the tip of the iceberg.

However, it’s been a while since our last set of guides for Expedia, so we are delighted to reveal that a whole new batch have just been published. These are spread far and wide, from tiny Scottish islands to vast American states. We’ve included extracts from three of these recently-published travel guides below, so scroll down to take a look.

Our Travels: Isle of Harris, Scotland

Here at World Words, we’re hugely passionate about travelling – and, of course, writing about it. That’s why we do what we do. It also means that members of the team are forever travelling the world, whether on a city break or a beach holiday, a rainforest hike or a yoga retreat. To highlight and celebrate some of our favourite recently-visited destinations around the world, we have started a brand new semi-regular blog series. And we call it… Our Travels.

Kicking us off with a destination that is, bewilderingly, rarely visited by locals or foreign visitors, staff content writer Nathanael tells us all about his recent visit to the Isle of Harris, a wild and remote island off the coast of Scotland.
