From Lithuania to The Ukraine: Country Guides for The Council of Europe (pt. 2)

Following on from our post earlier this month (if you haven’t read it, you’ll need to click here right now), we’ve put together another selection of the country guides we wrote for Routes4U. A little refresher… Routes4U is an online trip planner, focusing on destinations all across the continent, which are divided into four macro-regions. It’s a joint venture between the Council of Europe and the European Union, and we were tasked with writing a total of 11 of their country guides. Each guide would include a country overview, practical travel info, individual city coverage with things to see and do, and concise summaries of the various regional travel routes they wanted to promote.

All caught up? Excellent! Then scroll on down to read snippets from five more of the country guides we wrote…

From Czechia to Latvia: Our Destination Guides for The Council of Europe (pt. 1)

One of the most common content writing requests we get is for destination travel guides. Over the years we have written guides for everyone from TravelSupermarket to Fodor’s Travel. And thanks to our large network of expert travel writers based all over the world, we’re regularly asked by clients to write about their neck of the woods too.

That’s what happened earlier this summer, when we were approached by the Council of Europe, an organisation committed to upholding human rights and democracy throughout the continent. They were looking to launch an online trip planner within Europe, and were looking for writers to help. The project, which was a joint venture with the European Union, was to be called Routes4U. It would focus on destinations throughout the continent, divided into four macro-regions, and we were tasked with writing guides for 11 of the countries. Each guide would feature a country overview, practical travel information, individual city guides with points of interest, and pithy summaries of the cross-continental travel routes they wanted to promote in the region. Naturally, we were delighted to help.

Scroll on down to read snippets from six of the country guides we contributed to the project. The remainder will follow in another blog very soon. Can’t wait that long? Then visit the website to see all the guides in one place…

Feeling All Summery: A Selection of Our Best Summer Travel Content (Part Two)

A couple of weeks ago, we published a post about World Words’ best summer travel content. And while we were trawling through the archives in search of summer-themed blogs, articles and guides, we ended up finding a lot more than we bargained for – too much to squeeze into one post, in fact. So naturally, we decided to write two.

This time around, we’ve got even more summer beach break ideas, including a guide to the idyllic Greek island of Crete, an article about yoga retreats (including seafront options in Goa, Nicaragua and Bali), and a press release for a dreamy beach resort in the Maldives. If you rate fresh air, mountain hikes and biking more than beachside bliss, then you can drool over Adler Mountain Lodge in the Dolomites instead… or if it’s a city break you’re craving, we’d suggest reading our guide to Sydney. Sure, it is winter over there, but winters in Sydney aren’t exactly harsh. And anyway, it’s the perfect season for exploring: the mild temperatures are ideal for walking, the accommodation prices and crowds are lower, and you might even witness whales making their annual migration to the Coral Sea.

All of this great summer-themed travel content is waiting for you below, so scroll on down to start reading…

Feeling All Summery: A Selection of Our Best Summer Travel Content (Part One)

It’s the end of June, and summer is well and truly upon us. So it’s time to share some great summer travel content.

For many of us, summer is synonymous with holidays – the warmer the weather, the more we yearn to get out of the city and head down to the beach – so we’ll start with a pair of destination guides we wrote for two of Southern Europe’s finest summer seaside getaways. First up is Puglia, Italy’s stunning destination du jour, and next is Spain’s sand-lined Costa Blanca, where toasty summer temperatures have been drawing in sun worshippers for decades.

Alternatively, if you dream of spending your summer the way wealthy tycoons and celebrities do (i.e. lounging on the deck of a luxury yacht), you may want to read the article we wrote on Palma’s superyacht scene. And for those who don’t have the budget, holiday time or inclination to venture to the Mediterranean, we’ve also included a rundown of country-wide UK summer events, as well as a blog post we penned on summer festivals in Devon.

There’s a great selection of our best summer-themed travel content below, so scroll on down to start reading…
