At World Words, we’re often asked to write travel blogs for our clients. It’s no surprise, really, as blog content<\/a> is the ideal way for a travel brand to communicate its unique personality and tone of voice, position itself as an expert in its field and make it appear more friendly and accessible to its clients. It can also boost a brand’s SEO, improving its search rankings and directing more potential customers to the website. Luckily, when it comes to blog writing, there’s nobody with quite as much travel blog content experience and on-the-ground expertise as World Words.<\/p>\n

At the end of 2017, we were approached by luxury scuba diving specialists Dive Butler to write a series of (feature length) blog articles for their website. So, in the last seven months, we have written a series of article about scuba diving everywhere from French Polynesia to South Africa. But, most of all, we have found ourselves writing about the extraordinarily rich and diverse waters around the Maldives – without doubt, one of the world’s top dive sites.<\/p>\n

SERENE BEAUTY ABOVE AND BELOW THE WAVES IN BAA ATOLL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Powdery white sand beaches overhung with palm trees sway lazily in the warm breeze. Welcome to Baa Atoll, a tropical paradise island rising from the gin-clear waters of the Indian Ocean \u2013 and a place where yachts and their guests are welcomed with open arms.<\/p>\n

Sitting atop the Maldives\u2019 vast ridge, which runs almost 600 miles beneath the ocean, the 75 islets here are home to centuries-old traditions and ultra-luxury resorts; stilted, palm-thatched bungalows jutting enticingly into the sea…<\/p>\n

DISCOVER THE PERFECT BALANCE IN LHAVIYANI ATOLL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Cruise 75 miles north of Mal\u00e9 to enter the pristine Lhaviyani Atoll. A ring of picturesque sandy islets barely breaks the surface of the turquoise water.<\/p>\n

The atoll is home to more than 45 dive sites, with a diverse array of pretty reefs, challenging channel dives and fascinating wrecks. Fushivaru Thila offers special encounters with stingrays, white-tip sharks and barracudas \u2013 as well as occasional visits from great soaring manta rays with their seven-metre wingspan…<\/p>\n

MEET THE GIANTS OF THE DEEP IN ARI ATOLL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Ari Atoll is the second largest Atoll in the Maldives at around 25 miles long. Scattered across it are 105 islands where, just beneath the surface, some of the ocean\u2019s largest creatures congregate.<\/p>\n

Unlike other atolls, Ari Atoll is known not for its coral reefs but for its alluring thilas, or submerged pinnacles. Teeming with large pelagics, this is bucket-list scuba diving at its finest. Divers can enter the deep waters here and be surrounded by vast schools of hammerhead sharks, or great gatherings of grey reef sharks…<\/p>\n

EXPERIENCE DRIFT DIVING IN VAAVU ATOLL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Nestled in the Southern Atolls is Vaavu Atoll, one of the furthest flung parts of the Maldives. Made up of Felidhoo Atoll and the small uninhabited Vattaru Falhu Atoll, just 2,100 people call this beautiful, remote spot home.<\/p>\n

The diving here is characterised by its kandus, beautiful channels adorned with soft corals and visited by some of the ocean\u2019s largest creatures. Discover long, deep channels where schooling reef sharks, the occasional hammerhead shark and eagle rays (plus, in the monsoon season, manta rays) pass by in staggering numbers…<\/p>\n

SUPERYACHT DIVING IN NORTH MAL\u00c9 ATOLL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

North Mal\u00e9 Atoll is the best known of the Maldives\u2019 atolls, welcoming visitors year round to its barely-above-the-water international airport and bustling capital city of Mal\u00e9.<\/p>\n

The diving in Mal\u00e9 is legendary. Characterised by reefs and caves, current-swept channels and incredible drop-offs, this is big fish country, with reef sharks and mantas joined by dolphins and the occasional hammerhead. The visibility can stretch 50 metres in places, and at night the bioluminescence can look particularly Disney-esque…<\/p>\n
