Our Best Spring Travel Content – Part 2

Earlier this month, we took to the blog to show you some of the best spring-themed content written by the World Words team. But it turns out that we couldn’t do ourselves justice with just one blog. So we’re back with another.

As anyone of the pedalling persuasion knows, spring is prime cycling season, so we’ve dug up two articles from the archives on the topic: the first, a cycling itinerary guide and the second, a blog post on urban cycling events. If you favour two feet over two wheels, we’ve got an article on the world’s best long-distance hiking trails too. And if all that seems a little too active for your tastes, never fear; we have also got some more laid-back outdoor fun on offer in the form of a guide to London’s best parks. Last but by no means least, we’ve included a travel guide we wrote to the Isle of Skye. Although this Scottish isle is beautiful at any time of the year, we think it peaks in spring when the wildflowers are in full bloom and the puffins finally show their faces. Our Best Spring Travel Content – Part 1

Look outside. The days are getting longer. Daffodils are poking their yellow heads up through the dirt. Cadbury Creme Eggs are back on the supermarket shelves. And all this can only mean one thing: spring is finally upon us.

We are celebrating the new season with some of our best spring-themed content. Bid farewell to winter’s hearty comfort food and choose lighter fare instead, with our selection of the world’s finest seafood restaurants. Spring is also the season for festivals, with Songkran (aka Thai New Year) a springtime favourite – you can find a chic place to stay with our run-down of Thailand’s greatest luxury design hotels. With the weather getting better, why not also discover some new places – we’ve added a guide on Moscow and copy for a hotel on the Algarve. And the days may be getting longer, but there’s still pitch black night skies to enjoy, so we have included a piece on stargazing.

No Place Like Home: Five Ways to Write In an Engaging Way About Your Home Town

The first few months were so romantic. Dinner at all the best restaurants, drinks in all the coolest bars and moonlit walks along cobbled streets. But, over time, the relationship began to fizzle out. Without realising it, you’ve ended up spending your evenings in, only venturing out to pick up the occasional pint of milk from the local corner shop.

Sound familiar? It probably does if you’re a travel writer trying to write a piece about your home town. The day-to-day routine of living in a busy metropolis can turn the bright spark that made you fall for a city into a damp squib.

How can we rekindle the magic that once made our stomping ground so alluring? How can we write as if seeing the highlights of our city for the first time? Here are some tips from the experienced travel writers at World Words.

Weddings, Private Dining and Live Sports: Our Website Copy for The Function Room

At World Words, we love a good British pub. For our travel writers and editors, there’s little better than supping on a craft pale ale or continental lager in a place steeped in history, legend and tradition. So when we were asked to produce new brand web copy for Greene King, the largest pub retailer and brewer in the UK, we couldn’t say no. Our task? To create enticing and informing content about the functions rooms in their pubs all around the country, highlighting the range of events they offer, from weddings to Christenings, dinner parties to live sport screenings.

Over the course of the next few months, we completed copy for more than 35 pubs on The Function Room, each at just over 500 words. And they were so happy with our work, we’re expecting another commission very shortly.

You can find the full range of our pub function room content on their website. Or for just a small taste of what we did, scroll down for one example of pub function room copy: The Marlborough Arms pub in Bloomsbury, London.
